This Saturday morning and afternoon, September 26th, Legionnaires, neighbors, and community partners will be in north Hudson communities to register eligible residents to vote, while also providing helpful information on American Legion programs and other community resources like the 2020 Census. Public health guidance will be observed, including use of masks and social distancing.
“The American Legion Post 18 is working to ensure all our eligible neighbors have the opportunity to engage in a fundamental practice of our democracy: getting out and showing up to vote,” says Commander Troy Mack.
If you are available this weekend and would like to join in such efforts, please RSVP via email trmack001@gmail.com by Friday, September 25th.
American Legion National Commander Bill Oxford rightly notes in his recent Commander’s Message that the hosting of voter registration and education efforts, along with informative public debates, forums, and town halls, is a core component of the American Legion.
