Altalune Brings a New Cannabis Dispensary to Jersey City

A new cannabis dispensary led by Jersey City native Amanda Rallo has opened in the city, combining cannabis products, customer education, and community involvement under one roof.
For Rallo, opening Altalune was a return to her roots. Born in Jersey City and adopted at birth, she later reconnected with her biological family in the area. Together with her partner, Rich Fierro, a Paterson native, the pair decided to establish the dispensary in Jersey City.
The team says education is one of its biggest priorities. Rather than simply selling products, staff work with customers to understand different strains and products, and receive ongoing training on cannabis trends and responsible use. Customers can find flower, pre-rolls, edibles, tinctures, vapes, and concentrates across a range of price points.
The dispensary features a section it calls the Wellness Corner, dedicated to lotions, balms, tablets, and tinctures for customers interested in plant-based products. Altalune also offers a pet-focused selection and welcomes customers to visit with their dogs.
Altalune leans into a lunar theme, using phrases like “Lift Off” and referring to customers as “Lunars.” Inside, exposed brick, fireplaces, and colorful design elements give the space its identity.
The team says community involvement is a major part of its mission. Altalune has taken part in initiatives benefiting seniors through Angela Cares, domestic violence awareness efforts, Easter egg hunts at Pershing Field, and toy and turkey drives.
Rallo said the goal is for Altalune to be more than another business opening its doors in Jersey City, a place where both experienced and new customers feel comfortable asking questions and finding what works for them.
