Hudson County Community College President Resigns to Lead Harrisburg University

Hudson County Community College announced Wednesday that President Dr. Christopher M. Reber has tendered his resignation effective June 30, 2026, to accept the presidency of Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in Harrisburg, Pa.
Reber joined HCCC in July 2018. During his eight years leading the college, HCCC received the 2024 Bellwether Legacy Award for its Hudson Scholars student success model. Reber was named Community College CEO of the Year by the American Association of Community Colleges in 2024 and Executive of the Year by the New Jersey Business and Industry Association in 2025.
HCCC Board of Trustees Chair Jeanette Pena acknowledged his contributions in a statement. “We are grateful for his many contributions and wish him continued success in his new position,” Pena said.
In a message to the HCCC community, Reber reflected on his tenure. “It has been the honor of my life and career to work side by side with all of you,” he wrote. “Together, we have provided transformative opportunities that change lives. Hudson is Home!”
Tim Weston, co-chair of the Harrisburg University Presidential Selection Committee, welcomed the appointment. “All of us were impressed by Dr. Reber’s breadth of experience, his obvious passion for student success, and his commitment to our mission,” Weston said.
HCCC did not announce an interim president or a timeline for a search.
