Hoboken Expands EV Charging Network Through Partnership with JOLT

Hoboken has partnered with JOLT Charge USA Inc. to operate 14 on-street electric vehicle charging stations across the city, expanding access to curbside charging infrastructure for residents. The transition followed a competitive procurement process and approval from the Hoboken City Council to ensure long-term operation and maintenance of the city’s public charging assets.

The stations, previously operated by Volta Media Network, have supported more than 10,000 charging sessions and delivered over 700,000 EV miles since October 2023. Through JOLT’s advertising-supported infrastructure model, the charging stations will be operated and maintained at no cost to taxpayers while also generating a recurring revenue stream for the city through monthly rental fees.

action efforts by bringing reliable charging directly into our neighborhoods. By prioritizing
on-street access that’s convenient to our residents, we are advancing a more equitable and
lower-carbon future for the Hoboken.”
