Rep. Menendez Secures Over $13 Million for Hudson County Projects

Congressman Rob Menendez announced he secured more than $13 million in federal funding for community projects across Hudson County as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations legislation recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives.
“I came to Congress with a mission to work alongside local leaders to deliver federal resources directly to our communities,” said Menendez. “Our team worked relentlessly to secure this funding, and I am proud to have secured funding for each of our community project requests in House legislation.”
The House-approved bill includes funding for 10 Hudson County projects, addressing infrastructure, public safety, recreation, and climate resiliency. The requests now await consideration by the U.S. Senate and the president before funds are finalized.
Projects include:
– $1,092,000 for combined sewer overflow improvements at the Galaxy Towers in Guttenberg
– $1,031,000 for equipment and infrastructure upgrades in East Newark’s public safety departments
– $1,092,000 for reconstruction of the North Hudson Wastewater Treatment Plant administrative building in Hoboken
– $775,000 to enhance Weehawken Police Department’s public safety communications
– $1,092,000 for drainage improvements in North Bergen’s Woodcliff area
– $1,200,000 to build a multi-use recreation center in West New York
– $2,000,000 to construct an ADA-compliant pedestrian bridge in Union City
– $850,000 for Hoboken’s 800 Monroe Resiliency Park Project
– $1,410,000 for modernization of North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue’s dispatch center in West New York
– $2,000,000 for construction of a pedestrian bridge along Route 440 in Bayonne
“These projects respond directly to some of the most pressing needs of the communities I represent,” Menendez stated.
