Two New Eateries Open at Braddock Park Lake House
Visitors to Braddock Park now have two new dining options with the grand opening of Rumba’s Café and Playa Bowls in the lake house building.
Rumba’s Café, founded by Alan Lopez, opened its first location in Jersey City in 2004. Since then, Lopez has expanded with five Rumba Cubana restaurants, and now he brings his second Rumba’s Café to North Bergen. The café offers a wide selection of Spanish favorites and snacks, including Cuban sandwiches, empanadas, croquettes, and plantains.
Playa Bowls, a popular chain known for its fruit bowls, smoothies, and cold-pressed juices, has also opened a branch facing the lake.
“We are very excited to have welcomed 2 new business to North Bergen this weekend. Rumba Cafe and Playa Bowls are located in the Lakehouse of Braddock Park, and are a very welcomed addition to the Township of North Bergen, NJ,” says North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco. “We wish you much success and look forward to continuing a great relationship!”
Both eateries are designed to complement the scenic environment of the park. Rumba’s Café features a green and sustainable theme, while Playa Bowls is adorned with the playful and colorful graphics by artist Len Rock. Outdoor dining is available along the walkway surrounding the lake, with additional indoor seating under construction on the second-floor balcony, offering stunning views of the park.
