Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski Elected Bayonne Mayor, First Woman to Hold the Office

Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski has been elected mayor of Bayonne, becoming the first woman elected to lead the city, according to unofficial results from Tuesday’s election.
Nadrowski carried more than 60 percent of the vote, avoiding a runoff and winning on the first ballot.
“I could not be more grateful to the people of Bayonne for supporting our team and giving us the opportunity to provide the leadership that our community deserves,” Nadrowski said. “Our team made a promise to the people of Bayonne to deliver the local government they deserve, and we intend to live up to it.”
Team Sharon council candidates also led in downballot races. At-large candidates Mark Bottino and Mariam Salama won on the first ballot, as did First Ward candidate Gene Perry. Second Ward candidate Melissa Godesky-Rodriguez and Third Ward candidate Tommy Gillen held leads in their respective races, according to unofficial results.
Nadrowski announced her mayoral campaign in December. Results remain unofficial pending certification.
