Guttenberg Mayor and Council Members Sworn In for New Term

Mayor Wayne Zitt was sworn in for a new four-year term during a public ceremony at the Gerald R. Drasheff Community Center on Jan. 5.

Council Members Richard Delafuente, Monica Fundora, and John Habermann, all re-elected in November 2025, also took the oath of office at the town’s first council meeting of 2026. Municipal Clerk Cosmo Cirillo was reappointed for another term.

Judge Michael Jimenez administered the oaths. Mayor Zitt’s daughter, Isabella, led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Guttenberg Police Officer Emily Dubon performed the National Anthem.

According to the township, the event drew “a large and enthusiastic audience that filled the seats and bleachers in the auditorium.”
