Mayor Stack and City Commissioners Announce 2026 Re-Election Campaign

Mayor Brian P. Stack and City Commissioners Lucio Fernandez, Wendy Grullon, Celin Valdivia, and Maryury Martinetti have announced their intention to seek re-election on May 12, 2026.

“Serving the people of Union City is the greatest honor of my life,” said Mayor Stack. “Together, with our Commissioners, we have worked tirelessly to move our city forward by building eight new schools, shuttering dozens of problematic bars and liquor establishments that negatively impacted our quality of life, repaving countless streets and installing brand new sidewalks and modern lighting throughout our City.”

Citing past accomplishments, the mayor and commissioners emphasized work done to enhance public safety through community policing, invest in recreational facilities, and strengthen business corridors with decorative lighting on Bergenline and Summit Avenues. They also highlighted fiscal management practices and efforts to secure state funding to stabilize taxes.

Mayor Stack stated that accessibility remains a core principle, noting his practice of sharing his personal cell phone number with residents. “With the help of the community, I look forward to another four years of exciting improvements and enhanced quality of life,” he said.
