HARRISON, NJ – The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) today announced that NJ/NY Gotham FC goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger was named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year for the 2024 season.

Starting in 22 matches for Gotham FC, Berger logged eight clean sheets and a league-low 16 goals conceded. The German international posted a save percentage of 80.49 percent, making 67 saves and 32 catches.

She was also named to the NWSL’s Best XI First Team presented by Amazon Prime for her play this season.

Berger joined Gotham FC in April this season. This summer, Berger earned her first Olympic call up with Germany, and led her team to winning bronze in Paris. In the quarter-finals of the tournament, she saved two penalty kicks and scored the winning penalty against Canada. Then, in the bronze medal match, she made another crucial save on a penalty in stoppage time against Spain to secure bronze for her team.
