The NYPD is investigating the fatal shooting of a Bayonne man, Javier Osorio-Mejia, during an early morning robbery outside luxury stores in SoHo. The incident occurred just before 5:30 a.m. near Greene and Grand streets, directly in front of Stone Island, a high-end clothing store in the SoHo Cast Iron Historic District.

Osorio-Mejia, 31, was approached by a group of men while outside his white Range Rover. According to authorities, he was shot three times in the torso and once in the right thigh. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The suspects fled the scene in a black SUV, and the police are urging anyone with information on the case to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

A graduate of William Paterson University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Information Technology, he built a reputation as a sneaker connoisseur specializing in exclusive limited-edition sneakers. His influence extended to many celebrity clients who sought his expertise.
