Assemblyman Marenco Takes Shots at Wainstien

The race for Assembly in Hudson County’s LD-33 district continues to escalate, as Assemblyman Julio Marenco issued a scathing statement targeting his opponent, Larry Wainstien. In a sharply worded release, Marenco dismissed Wainstien as “a conman and a proven liar” while defending his own candidacy.
“Larry Wainstien is a conman and a proven liar who has been completely rejected by the voters every single time he tried to take over North Bergen, and the same thing is going to happen in June,” Marenco said in the statement. He went on to accuse Wainstien of attempting to mislead voters in Union City, West New York, Guttenberg, and Secaucus, pointing to what he described as the candidate’s dubious residency and associations.
Marenco specifically highlighted what he called “Lying Larry’s $2 million mansion in Franklin Lakes,” claiming Wainstien falsely maintains a residence in the district. The Assemblyman also alleged Wainstien supported former Republican Governor Chris Christie and is closely associated with “numerous convicted felons and shady characters.”
“Lying Larry has already been attacking me for months with blatant lies, but the voters will remember that nothing Wainstien says can be trusted,” Marenco added.
As the June primary approaches, this race is shaping up to be one of the most contentious in Hudson County’s recent history.
