Bayonne’s Historic Little League World Series Run Comes to an End

Bayonne’s remarkable run at the Little League World Series came to an end on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, with a 5-2 loss to Hamilton, Ohio, in an elimination game in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The two teams were locked in a scoreless pitching duel through the early innings before Ohio broke through with a five-run outburst. Bayonne battled back with runs late in the game, cutting the deficit to 5-2 and bringing the tying run to the plate before Ohio closed out the win.

The loss ends a tournament run that made history for Hudson County. Bayonne was the first team from the county to reach the Little League World Series in about 60 years, since West New York American in 1966, and the first Bayonne team to capture a New Jersey state title on its way to Williamsport.

Along the way, the team put together a lengthy winning streak, captured the Metro Region championship with a comeback win over Darien, Connecticut, and earned its first-ever Little League World Series victories in Williamsport, including a walk-off home run by Mason Rincon in its opening game.

Mayor Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski, who traveled to Williamsport to support the team, praised the players in a statement.

“What an unforgettable season for Bayonne Little League,” Ashe-Nadrowski said. “From winning the New Jersey State Championship and becoming Metro Region Champions to representing Bayonne on the biggest stage in Williamsport, this team gave our entire city so much to be proud of. They represented Bayonne with heart, determination, and pride, and our city could not be prouder of all they accomplished.”
