Four Secaucus Men Arrested on Aggravated Assault and Riot Charges Following Hoboken Attack

The Hoboken Police Department announced the arrest of four Secaucus men on aggravated assault and riot charges stemming from an assault that occurred on March 14, 2026, outside 80 River St. in Hoboken.
Arrested were 21-year-old Shaun Katchula, 21-year-old Kyle Garcia, 19-year-old Steven Vega, and 20-year-old Jack Lees, all of Secaucus. The victim sustained serious injuries in the attack.
The arrests followed an investigation led by Detective Paul Quinn. Three of the individuals were arrested at their homes in Secaucus. A fourth turned himself in at the Secaucus Police Department. All four were transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters for processing and later remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
Police Chief Steven Aguiar credited his team and the Secaucus Police Department in a statement following the arrests.
“Hoboken will not stand for this type of behavior, and our Police Department will continue to crack down on any and all violent behavior,” Aguiar said. “I commend our team for quickly identifying and locating those responsible and thank the Secaucus PD for their assistance in this investigation and arrests.”
