Micheal Bradley Introduced As Red Bulls Head Coach

On January 5, Red Bulls New York introduced Michael Bradley as the club’s new head coach. Bradley joined Head of Sport Julian de Guzman for a press conference discussing his transition from player to coach and his vision for the team.
De Guzman opened the event by highlighting his long-standing connection with Bradley, noting their shared history as national team captains for Canada and the United States. He reflected on their journey from competitors to colleagues. “There’s days where I showed up at 7:45 in the morning to the office, but he’s already there,” De Guzman said. “I will leave the office around 7 o’clock at night and he’s on the field doing box-to-box runs.”
Bradley described his path to joining the organization as fast-moving but welcomed. “One thing you can never control is timing, when certain opportunities come,” he said. “From my standpoint, the opportunity to come to Red Bull was also a no-brainer.”
Looking ahead to the season, Bradley expressed confidence in the team’s preparation following last year’s playoff absence. “We’ve spent every minute since the season ended, working, organizing and trying to put together a team that can step on the field next year and compete,” he said. “That is what has consumed me for the last bunch of weeks,” adding that he “couldn’t be more excited by the challenge.”
