Five-Alarm Fire Puts Smoke Shop Up in Flames, Bergenline Ave.
A five-alarm fire has erupted in West New York, NJ and is impacting several stores on Bergenline Avenue. The fire started in one store before 4:30 a.m. and quickly spread to other neighboring businesses. Six stores across three buildings have reportedly been damaged including a nail salon, smoke shop, repair store, beauty supply store, Carvel ice cream store, and a Don Julios BBQ that has apartments above it. As a result of the fire, NJ Transit Bus Routes 22, 84, 156, and 159 are on a detour and Bergenline Avenue has been closed. Buses will be redirected to 68th Street and JFK Boulevard.
