Union City Man Charged After Sexual Contact with Minor

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office announced the arrest of Edgar Fernando-Gomez, 48, of Union City, who is charged in connection with an incident involving a 6-year-old girl. Prosecutor Esther Suarez stated that Fernando-Gomez was taken into custody on Wednesday, November 6, following an investigation by the Special Victims Unit.

The charges against Fernando-Gomez include sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child. According to officials, the incident is alleged to have occurred on May 19, 2024, at a residence in Jersey City. Fernando-Gomez is reported to be known to the child involved.

Following his arrest, Fernando-Gomez was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, where he awaits an initial court appearance.
