Hoboken Mayor Jabbour Endorses Congressman Menendez for Re-Election

Hoboken Mayor Emily B. Jabbour announced her endorsement of Congressman Rob Menendez for re-election in the June 2, 2026 Democratic primary for New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District.
“Hoboken needs a relentless fighter for our residents in the halls of Congress, and that is exactly what Rob has been since he took office,” Jabbour said. “Rob has brought back millions for our residents, delivering critical funding to help us fight the impacts of climate change. He has stood up to the Trump Administration and fought to protect our residents from ICE. There is no better choice for Hoboken than Rob and I am incredibly proud to support him for re-election.”
Menendez acknowledged the endorsement in a statement. “It’s been a privilege to work with Emily to deliver results for Hoboken and I am incredibly proud to have earned her endorsement for re-election,” Menendez said. “I have worked to deliver federal funding for projects that improve the lives of our Hoboken neighbors, to make Hoboken more resilient against the threat of climate change, and to fight Trump’s extreme anti-immigrant agenda.”
Menendez faces challenger Mussab Ali in the June 2 Democratic primary. The winner will advance to the general election on November 3, 2026. The voter registration deadline for the primary is Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
