“Beginning this Friday, so in two days, New Jersey residents will be able to take a self-administered, self-swab COVID-19 test at seven Walmart locations, as you can see, up and down the state,” says New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.

Test will be provided at drive-up locations outside the stores between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., which will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday next week.

Then, on Monday June 1st, the tests will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and results are expected within two days

Once on site, those being tested will need to wear a mask and stay in their cars for verification of eligibility criteria, ID check, and self-administered test. For the safety of all those on-site, the test site is not available to those who walk up, Murphy said.

The sites will use a self-administered nasal swab test that will allow those being tested to swab their own nose onsite while in their vehicles, observed by a trained medical volunteer to ensure the sample is taken correctly, and drop the sealed sample into a container on their way out of the drive-thru site, said Murphy.

There will be no testing inside the Walmart stores and appointments can be made through Quest Diagnostics at MyQuestCOVIDTest.com
