The North Bergen school system is working on reopening plans as the discussion of students returning to school hits the national spotlight.

“We have been working as a committee, under the direction and guidelines from the New Jersey Department of Education, to development a plan to reopen the schools in September,” says Superintendent of School Dr. George Solter. “The most important part of the plan is to protect the health and safety of our students and staff.”

“As parents, you have the option to have your child educated fully virtual.”

Remote learning became necessary when New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy first ordered all schools in the state closed on March 18. Dr. Solter hinted that a hybrid option to attend school from home part time would still be an option.

“We are looking at a hybrid plan where the children will be attending school two days a week and learning in the virtual environment three days a week.”
